Fashionista Friday #16...Happy 2010!!!

Hello all!  Hope you have had a wonderful Holiday season and Happy New Year to everyone!  We here at the Shoe were thrilled to see how many of you chose to play along during our Color Your World challenge.  So many inspiring creations!  It was really enjoyable to see all the different coloring mediums you crafty gals use!  It was so difficult to select just one entry for Shoe of the Week...but here goes:

That's right...we are celebrating the New Year in our own Fashionista Way!  For this week's challenge, your project must contain 10 of one embellishment, as in, 10 brads, 10 pieces of ribbon, 10 buttons, etc.  We can't wait to see what you come up with!  Check out our versions of 2010!

Design Team Call!

So did Santa bring you everything you wanted for Christmas??? Over here at the Shoe, we got everything we needed.....except....some new shoes! We are on the hunt for a few more pairs of shiny new shoes for the new year! Would you like to be a Shoe??? Here is what we are looking for:
1. you must be able to complete at least 3 challenges a month
2. projects need to be submitted in a timely manner (we post on fridays, projects are due no later than noon the thursday before!)
3. it is encouraged that you comment on entries to our challenges, and advertise for the Shoe on your personal blog (not required, but encouraged!)

simple right? If you would like to be a new Shoe, please email us at iftheshoefits5@gmail.com . Please include 3 samples of your work! We welcome all forms of work here (layouts, cards, altered items, etc....)

Design Team Call will end on Jan 15th. We will announce our new Shoes on Jan 22, and new Shoes will begin showing off their fabulous work in February!
(we had announced a DT call earlier, and well....my fault for not giving it it's own post and bringing more notice to it! if you already applied, we still have your application, and you are in the running!)

Since we had this beautiful image to play with this week, we HAD to have a coloring challenge thisweek! So.....our challenge is titled 'color your world'! That means...use your fav coloring medium (markers, paint, ink, twinkling h20s, colored pencils, etc...) and COLOR! I want to be inspired this week by your fabulously colored creations! Well, once again it is Friday, and I've got alot of news today on the Shoe, so I'm diving right into it!!! First......Everyone please extend a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO TANISHA!!!!! Tanisha has been promoted to First Class in the Navy!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is awesome news for her!!!!! You can visit her blog here and give her some LOVE on her outstanding accomplishment! We are extremely proud of her here at the Shoe!!!!!!!!!

Next...we are holding another Design Team Call!!! Want to be a member of the Shoe??? Here is what we are looking for:
We hold a challenge every friday, we ask that you participate in at least 3 challenges a month, and submissions are due by NOON the Thursday before. That is the only REQUIREMENT....but we would also LIKE for you to help promote the Shoe on your personal blog as much as you can, and comment on entries that we receive for our challenges...everybody likes to be recognized, and comments are the BEST!
